<p>Skyline High senior Tariq Musa chosen as a Presidential Scholar </p>

<p>Tariq A. Musa, of Salt Lake City, recently was recently named a 2006 Presidential Scholar by the U.S. Department of Education. Musa is one of 141 American high school seniors who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, artistic excellence, leadership, citizenship, and service at school and in their community. The Presidential Scholars will be honored for their accomplishments in Washington, D.C., in June. </p>

<p>Musa attends Skyline High School and will attend Harvard this fall. He is president of National Honor Society, vice president of the Spanish Club, captain of the debate team, editor of his school newspaper, and a member of the math and soccer teams. As president of the Key Club, he raised more than $10,000 for Operation Smile. He also serves as a mentor for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and volunteers as a tutor at the Utah Food Bank.</p>

<p>In addition, Musa has founded two online businesses: SoccerFansNetwork.com and World-Cup-store.com. He donates part of the proceeds to charity and hosts public service announcements for breast cancer, world hunger and the Red Cross. Musa is also a classical pianist.</p>

<p>Don't forget, Musa turned down Stanford, Yale, Princeton, MIT, and Salt Lake City Community College because Harvard typically has the highest cross-admit admittance ratio.</p>
