I just took the SAT today, and I am scared of what score I will get. I have studied the SAT for about a year, but I am worried because time is always a problem for me. I also made guesses on a lot of questions. I am scared that I will get a low score. Should I cancel my SAT scores. I don't think that I did horrible on the test nor do I think that will score 1700-2400 on the SAT. If I do get a low score on the SAT, my parents will be very mad at me. My parents think that the SAT is practically like an IQ test. If my parents don't like what score I get, they will be very disappointed in me. My parents have been pressuring me to do extremely well on the SAT and they are expecting me to go to an ivy league college. I don't think that I am intelligent; I view myself as an average student.

Don’t worry. You might get a better score than you expect, and even if you don’t, you can always take it again! If you do end up taking it again, try to do practice tests in the time that you will have on the real SAT (if not a bit less, since you might get nervous on the day of the test and spend more time on easy questions). I used to take a long time, and doing a couple of practice tests while timing myself was just what I needed to pick up the pace a bit.

Do not cancel your scores, the SAT is not an IQ test, and it isn’t the only factor in getting admitted. Wait for your scores, and retake if you get under a 2200. Almost everyone feels horrible about their scores right after the test.
