Just turned "Independent Student" for 2014-2015 - Need help

I was applying to a CSULA and it asked to put my estimated income for the 2013 year so it could process wether or not I am eligible for the application waiver. The issue is ever since I started college t 18, Im now 23 I have never had a job or and filed taxes. I always put down my parents income. For the 2014 year I am considered "independent" but i am still going to live under my parents roof and have their food. Any money I spend on myself comes from loans I take out and some aid I get from school. I don't pay bills my only bill kinda is not really under my name and that is for a cellphone I use.
I decided to put $0 estimated income since really I have not worked ever in my life. I hope I did not miss anything ><

Is money given unto you from relatives considered as income?

You are correct in saying your estimated income is 0.

Until this year, your parents were expected (by the financial aid gods) to pay for you. So when you complete your FAFSA, you don’t need to put any money they gave to you for last year as untaxed income - they were “supposed” to take care of your costs. Next year, though, when asked for untaxed income, you will put down any money your parents gave to you for tuition, for bills IN YOUR NAME, and for spending money, for the upcoming year (your “independent” year). If you live at home and eat their food, you do not need to place a value on that - although some schools may adjust the estimated living costs downward if you live with parents.

to the best of my knowledge money that we get from our relatives is not considered as your income.

btw are you having a credit card ??
