Just want a chance to go to college

I'm a 19 year old high school graduate and im struggling to get help to go to college. I come from a low income family, im also the first of my family to want to go to college. My family is not helping all I want is an opportunity to create a better future for myself please help.

What is your state of residence? What was your HS GPA and SAT/ACT scores? Are you living with your parents? Do you have a community college and/or a 4-year public university you can commute to? What do you plan to study?

If you consider your family as low-income, definitely choose community college and then transfer. If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, you are qualified for federal pell grant that will cover all of the cost in community college.

^^not good advice. If you have qualified grades and are low income, you are not restricted to community college. There are 4 year options where you may get costs covered. Community College may or may not be your best option. Best to check out all options.

I would have termed that “not necessarily good advice”. For the majority it IS good advice. Most students who have good grades and scores would not be coming into this so late.
