So there is a ton of talk about how tough Cornell or ivies in general are, and what I would like to know is HOW hard is it? Is it like kill yourself hard, Super Genius hard, just-put-in-some-effort-and-you-will-be-fine hard, not really as hard as it is being made out to be hard, Stress through the roof hard? Can someone who goes to Cornell or knows something about the difficulty level please tell me? And please dont waste time giving me some "oh its not really that bad" crap answer. Something legit please. Oh and in case you were wondering if I am just some lazy bum who doesnt want to put in any work, I already got one of those welcome letters..

Definitely kill-yourself-super-genius-stress-through-the-roof hard.

How can somebody really give a proper answer to this question? It really just comes down to how each individual reacts to stress and the workload. If you already got a welcome letter, you're probably going to be able to handle it.

what is a welcome letter

My daughter is a sophomore @ Cornell and she is stressed, overwhelmed, works extremely hard, etc. etc. But she loves it, and goes out every weekend and has a great social life up there, as well. The work is do-able – as long as you are not also doing a sport. Also, Cornell does grade deflation. Sometimes your average is an A- and you end up with a B. Very Frustrating. But, as they say, Cornell is the easiest IVY to get into but the hardest to graduate from. Good Luck Perfectangel.

Grade deflation. That’s a bit depressing.

Can you compare it to how much work you had to do in HS? (and mention how hard your HS was)
