just wondering

hey. so i've always been a really good student throughout my life. i have always studied really hard and got above a 3.5 all four years with honor classes. however now i feel a little burnt out.

i was just wondering how important it is to obtain a's & b's in college. i am interested in learning the material, but i really don't want to have to worry about not getting the best grades. i know i might sound like a slacker, but i just want to enjoy my four years of college without feeling the pressure i had in high school of getting the grades (so i could go to the college i want). i am not planning on going to graduate school, so how important is it really to get above a 3.0?

i'd imagine it wouldn't hurt to be cum laude if you're trying to get a job

good grades are NEVER a bad thing if you want to make yourself stand out from the crowd (in hopes of actually scoring a job, that is).

its really not insanely hard to get to grades, you just need to invest time

Of course good grades are better than bad grades. But you can still be a happy and successful individual with bad grades. Go ahead and slack.

Wow...what's the point of going to college if you're just going to slack?

Plus, what you want to do in the future will probably change sometime down the line, so it's always helpful to have options. Good grades expand your options, so I wouldn't recommend slacking...

Hmm... I say you should do your best regardless of the grades. Be cognizant of the fact that you took someone else's spot to be here. Also, California is subsidizing your education so put it to good use. If you don't get a 4.0, don't fret, but you should still try your best.
