<p>I had APs...you generally need a 4 or 5 to get credit there. </p>
<p>I'm not sure re: actual college credits. There is likely some kind of minimum grade requirement (like they aren't going to transfer a D+) and other things like it has to correlate with some similar NYU course. </p>
<p>The admissions board can probably answer this better than I. You can also call up the individual NYU school's advising office.</p>
