I’ve narrowed my college search to K-State and Mizzou. I’ll be studying (undecided) engineering. I’ve visited both campuses and think that K-State is clearly a better engineering school. However, I don’t think the difference is too much. Most of my friends will be attending Mizzou. I can’t decide between restarting my social life for better engineering or sticking with my friends.
Also, I’m in the honors college at both schools and cost is not an issue. What do you guys think?
No wrong choice here. Having friends and stronger social life, might actually be a detriment for a prospective engineer. I say that as a MIZZOU alum who knows several engineering grads.
So happy for your decision! My son has been at K-State for over 4 years (3 undergrad and in his 2nd year of vet school now) and has loved it there. Several of his fraternity friends were engineers and have done very well! Good luck and enjoy your time there. His gf was pre-med and is starting PA school in the fall (her choice to go that route instead of MD or DO route - she could have done either). The new engineering building is very nice! See if there are any faculty lead travel abroad trips you might done. Those are great for engineering students (either spring break, or Christmas break, or the very beginning of the summer).
