K12 Virtual Academy

Okay I’m currently enrolled in K12 virtual academy and i was wondering has anyone attended K12? have you graduated? Where they helpful? Do you recommend me staying in K12. I have 25 credits but i will graduate when I’m 18 or should I attend my local high school and graduate when I’m 20 help?

I think it is all about which college u want to go after u graduate.
Some selective schools like UC do not accept K12 diploma.
Whats ur dream school?

@DDaavviidd well I have a few dream schools UC BERKLEY, LIBERTY UNIVERSITY, and UCSB will be a few of my dream schools.

Umm… As I mentioned, All UC do not accept K12 diploma, if you want to attend UC berkeley or UC santa barbara, yI recommend you to attend your local high school.

Ddaavviidd - that is untrue. A K12 diploma is accepted at these schools. Obviously, admission to these schools is not guaranteed, but the diploma from k12 is not an issue.

I’m a current K12 CAVA student, though I only had one year of it + this semester.
I don’t believe attending K12 will jeopardize your chances of a school you’re applying to. It’s an unusual circumstance, but if you’re taking the toughest classes available in your VA and doing extracirriculars outside of school, admissions might see you equally to other students. I myself am applying to UCLA, UCI, Cal Poly Pomona, MIT, CSULB (accepted!).
Ddavviidd’s post is only partially true. K12 doesn’t have science or arts courses that fulfill some of the A-G requirements. I just made a thread about how that screwed me up: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-los-angeles/1740740-fulfilling-the-f-requirement-urgently-need-advice.html?new=1
I’m assuming that you’re a junior or lower. You’ll have to take some college courses to fulfill your D and F requirements properly, and I suggest you do that now (if possible) or during the summer. Alternatively you can pass the AP science and art history exams and that will fulfill both high school and college credits for those requirements. There’s an official document for them if you ask your counselor.
Good luck to you! Don’t make the same mistakes I did and wait this long to finish my art credits…

@homucifer‌ yea lol actually my counselor already told me I have to go to my local community college to take lab science and performing arts. Yea a K12 diploma is a regular high school diploma. You can even go on there site and see the colleges some of the students got accepted to. @DDaavviidd‌
