Well guys, it has been an extremely rewarding two years with you all. I have learned a lot about life from this community and I will cherish you and all that you have done for me. I came on this board as a young eager teen looking to go to boarding school and now I see that curtain coming to a close. Remember, wherever you go to school you can learn so much from people if only you listen to them and engage them. That's true both online and offline. I am happy to say that I was just accepted to the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton school. I feel that this community contributed immensely to my personal development. So thank you all, FIF especially.

Bye.

What is the Wharton School?

It’s a business school that is part of University of Pennsylvania, which, in turn, is part of the Ivy League. It is generally regarded as the best business school for finance in the world. Donald Trump and Warren Buffett both attended, Buffett did not graduate.

How are you already in buissness school if you say you came on as a teen but your profile says you joined in 2008?

Congrats! That is great. Anyone else from your school received Wharton Ed ?

Wharton is both a graduate and undergraduate school on business. Google it.

Nah, I don’t think so. I am the only one who applied to Wharton I believe.

I’m pretty sure he’s at Hotchkiss, I could be wrong though. and urbanflop he could’ve come in late/been a lurker/had another account. Congratualtions by the way, not that I know you but I have read some of your posts when sorting through old topics.

Congratulations, Kafka. Thank you so much for sticking around to engage others after you started BS.

Best of luck to you.

Be sure to come back to the board after March 10th to help kids decide! I’m sure you’ve met people from many many school in your time at Hotchkiss.

Wow Congrats on Wharton!!

congrats on wharton!

Thanks guys ! It means a lot to me. Ha, know i have those pesky mid-terms to attend to :(

That is great! I notice you’ve updated your location.

Congrats Kafka! That is HUGE!!!

Kafka, I have enjoyed your shameless, shameless!!!, boosterism of the Hotchkiss brand and your over-the-top adoration of what you see as the Hotchkiss business trajectory. But, a word of warming from this Kafka-admirer and Penn graduate (English major), do NOT listen to your own press when you get there. A painfully high percentage of Wharton undergrads strut, preen and self-aggrandize during their four years, all the while demonstrating a painful inability to write well, to mix easily with others and, well, to be likeable and interesting human beings. When you get there, make it a personal point to do as much as you can outside the Wharton bubble. The University is so rich with opportunity; don’t let Wharton tell you who you are!!!

Congrats, kafkareborn. Thanks for writing about and worrying about Hotchkiss over the past couple of years. With my son now there, I am concerned that THS will not find anyone with the spunk and spit to replace you on CC as the voice and soul of that school.

Good luck to you at Wharton. Also, heed the advise of Palabane. As a graduate of another Ivy school, I too can warn you of the fractured views of the world and yourself an elite school offers. Be careful in accepting these gifts. Some are beautiful and wonderful, of course; others appear beautiful but, in time, prove rotten. Learn quickly, if you can, to see the difference. Here lies the seat of true learning.

But have you yet awakened to discover that you are, indeed, a giant cockroach?

Wharton will be mine next year too =)

Good job man.

good luck with Wharton next year bro :)

I thought it was a dung beetle (in the short story)

Thanks for representing Hotchkiss well on this board. Some of your posts helped us immensely in our decision and our son loves it there. I do hope you’ll make some time in 2010 to help those who are trying to make decisions. Good luck to you at Wharton…make us proud!
