My son and I had a very nice visit at K last weekend. If you are interested, I have posted a trip report in the "College Visits" section.

I enjoyed reading your trip report, MilwDad, and I'm glad the visit went well.

Thank you. The trip went very well. I was very pleased by what I saw at K.

I was joking with my son last night, however, that he can't attend K unless we figure out what people from Kalamazoo are called. Kalamazians? Kalamazites? Kalamazoons? :)

LOL...Well, I have heard native Kzoo'ers (my term) refer to themselves as Kalamazooians, although I don't know if that's technically accurate. Quite a mouth full!

I lived in Kalamazoo for less than a year. I don't recall people calling themselves anything of the sort? Haha. Either way, I'm reallyyyy glad my parents decided to get out of there. It's a nice quiet place and everything, but I could not stand the dreary winter weather that lasts for half a year, the lack of good ethnic foods, and how there's no beach (I live in California.) I have to admit that autumn was amazing, and that's it's quite a clean place with some nice spots.

found a GOOD Indian place my only night in town.

Was it Saffron on W. Main just down the street from campus? We're Indian food freaks and S. always chooses that place for a dinner out when we're in town...lol. Also, a real deli downtown called Irving's as well as several other good ethnic joints including Lebanese, Thai, etc.

I believe that was it-- in a little strip of shops et cetera. It was excellent and friendly. Make mine Indian whenever possible!

Bigpicdad - Are you an Indian?

No, just an Ohio boy addicted to curry.

Ha Ha. Thanks.

OK. We all can agree: Kalamazoo has no beaches... and very few places to find chicken tandoori.

Kind of a random post joecollege...lol. When and if you're ever in Kzoo, try out these excellent places for Indian...
