Has anyone used this book yet?
I heard good things about them and I was wondering if they had good practice tests.
As you already know CB released only 4 tests so realistic questions are really limited.
I’ve already looked at the “big company” prep books from Barrons, Princeton Review, and Kaplan. And all of their practice tests seem very bad (do not “feel” like the official material)
The only solid practice test I have is the Ivy Global ones and their questions really seem like they understand the test very well.
So are Kallis practice tests have realistic questions?
I got my hands on the Kallis book. The reading questions don’t really seem like authentic CB questions.
I don’t really need the review content in the front of the book so I’m just using the practice tests in the back.
what are your opinions?
And yes, of course the questions won’t feel like authentic CB questions since they are unofficial. But I’ve seen more realistic questions in other prep books.
How does this book teach its lessons? Does it drill on the topics after each lesson and provide explanations for its questions directly under the questions?
@GMKoon
Yes, it drills on each topics after each lessons. There isn’t explanations directly under the questions.
For most high scorers, the lessons in the front of the book will not be helpful, but realistic practice tests on the back will. Unfortunately, after doing the first practice reading test, I don’t think Kallis really understands the complexity and nuances of the SAT reading test.
@GMKoon Wow this book isnt really worth the good reviews. I guess the reviews are based on the lessons in the front of the book but i bought this book for the 6 practice tests. The questions here are NOT like the official practice tests.
If you are looking for good practice tests, check Ivy globals books. They have 3 good practice tests in their SAT study guide and 4 more in a different book. And a free online practice test. Sure there are some unrealistic questions on ivy global but after taking an ivy global test and then taking an official practice test, i could tell ivyglobal really understands how collegeboard tests students.
Wow i sound like someone who works for ivy global but i am not lol im just shocked that most sat book writers dont understand how to make realistic questions. Prepsholar and ivyglobal are the only companies that make realistic, official-like unofficial questions. I may purchase erica meltzer’s thr critical reader since i feel like she’s another person who really understands what real SAT questions are like…
