For college applications I am supposed to list the competitions I participated in. What about the Kangourou competition? Do you perhaps know it? It's on a national level, but everybody can participate. Do you think it's wise to say that I won a recognition in this competition or better leave it out?
Please respond as quickly as possible.

I've never heard of it. Then again, I never heard of IMO until I came to CC.

If it's on national level, you should use it. Then explain what it is.

Hehe, yeah, it's on a national level. But really everyone can participate. You can be a zero in math and compete on a national level. You understand? I mean, I might indicate I participated and later explain: "Yes, but this is really nothing. It's not special at all". ;)
What do you think? Or just leave out the explanation? hehe...

is that some kangaroo competition? i have never heard of it... But then i may be ignorant... perhaps the AOs will know it.. i would say put it down

Don't say that in your explanation, aw5k! Oi! Just say it's a national math competition.

I've heard of it! I've even participated to it(math and french)! I've put it in my list. you should do the same. can't hurt. ;)

Lakshmi, what did you get as award? did you get a price or just a recognition (like me)?

a recogniton, and I went into one of their camps..... here in our country....which was so fun! :p
