I'll be in KC, MO for awhile. Anyone know any fun place to go or things to do?

You can watch a blade of grass grow 'til the cows come home.

Ha, ha.

Sadly, I'll be enforcing that stereotype: I honestly can't think of anything.

You could go to the real Kansas City that is actually in Kansas.
:D

Eat BBQ. Go to the plaza. Strangely enough, I've never been there despite living in Kansas all my life.

I got to Kansas City on a Friday
By Saturday I learned a thing or two.
For up to then I didn't have an idea
of what the modern world was coming to.

I counted twenty gas buggies going by themselves
almost every time I took a walk.
And then I put my ear in a Bell telephone
and a strange woman started in to talk.

Everything's up to date in Kansas City.
They've gone about as far as they can go!
...

I'm sorry, your thread just provided me with an excuse to type Oklahoma lyrics.

Ok, I live in KC, and it's not a bad city at all. You can go eat BBQ, go to the Country Club Plaza (excellent shopping and amazing restaurants...its a big tourist attraction) go to our amusement park (Worlds of Fun)

check out a few shows; it depends on your music tastes, but a lot of bands play in kansas city. learn about the 'kansas city shuffle' and watch 'lucky number slevin'

Screw Worlds of Fun, it's time for Oceans of Fun!

a soccer coach tried to recruit me to play soccer at Kansas City Kansas Community College. it was tempting (free tuition), but it's still community college, and it's still in kansas city... so I took a pass, haha

go to Holcomb, I bet you would find it interesting

What sort of things do you like to do?

no one get my reference?

bump.......

Oooh, and there are/have been some awesome concerts here! John Mayer just came, and a few weeks ago, Daughtry, The Gym Class Heroes, Hellogoodbye, Augustana, Katherine McPhee, and JoJo came.

Oh yeah, and Ne-Yo also came :>)

OP- if you have younger siblings (and you feel like being a nice older brother/sister), take them by the Hallmark shopping center. There're are bunch of fountains that are fun for little kids (up to about 10 yrs) (and it's free :))

if you're here with some friends, you could take them by the Plaza. It's not all that fun in the summer, but it has some okay shopping(the lights in the winter are what make it special, imo).

Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are both fun. I've been to many coaster parks/theme parks, and WoF as good as most.

if you like shopping, there are tons of malls... but you can use google to find those

if you like blues and bbq, there's a place that has great live concerts with great bbq (I think it's called BB's BBQ... or somethin' like that).

it really depends on what you want to do. KC is more than cows (we're not wisconsin) and corn (not Nebraska, either).

Hmm.. I really willing to give anything a try. I will be there with friends and we will have lots of time. If we were to go to see a concert, what is the main center for that? Thanks for all of the advice!

anyone read in cold blood by truman capote or watch the film capote?

No, sorry mcqdeltat. Does anyone know if there are any teen night clubs anywhere in MO, or if there are any regular night clubs with a teen night?
