I took a free SAT/ACT combo test at a Kaplan testing center yesterday and I noticed that the ACT half of the test was way easier than the SAT half of the test. I just took another practice ACT from Kaplan online, and I'm doing pretty well in each section. I don't have much experience with the ACT since my first time taking it will be this September, so can somebody tell me how Kaplan's practice tests compare to the real thing?

I don't want to be majorly disappointed when I get my September scores back after the test and see that I did a lot worse than I anticipated!

From what I heard, Kaplan tests aren't representative of the real thing. So i'd recommend taking a few practice tests from " The REAL ACT Prep guide" which is written by the ACT board itself and from Princeton Review's "Cracking the ACT".

From my experience (used Kaplan's ACT Guide, 2004), the english and math portions are fairly accurate in comparison with the Real ACT Guide, though they may be a bit tougher just to make good on their guarantee. The reading, I found, was much easier and the science was definetly much more difficult.

Agree with Jai, I used the Princeton Review and it worked out very well. I wish I would've had the brains to buy the Real ACTs book though..

Um. I took a practice test from kaplan and got a 22 on science. On the real test, i got a 30. So not representative.

I used PR online class and did well on the practice tests but got a bad results on the real ones...
now i'm in kaplan and the practice test came to be exactly wat i got on the real one. I like kaplan's method better...
I think it all depends on the person but I agree Twenty8 , english and math were simliar but science was def harder.
