I've been using my older sister's Kaplan ACT Review CD from 2006 recently, in preparation for the ACT test that I will be taking in early June. I've been getting pretty good scores on the english & reading sections, and the overall as well. (English & Reading=31-32, Overall=30-31)
Do you think that these scores are, for the most part, accurate indications of how I will do on the ACT test? Also, does anyone else find the science portion of the test to be somewhat of a challenge?

I’ve heard that Kaplan is a bit easier, but I’ve never used it, so I don’t really know about that. As for science, I got a 35 on it the first time I took the test, but while I was studying it was always my weakest and I forced myself to work hard on it. Just keep taking tests on that portion if it challenges you and you’ll bring it up.

no, those aren’t at all accurate indications of how well you’ll do. you are scoring about what I scored on Kaplan’s practice tests (which are awful and riddled with errors) and I got a 35 composite on the actual test.

for the practice tests, you are better off taking the three in the back of the (*official *red ACT book.

When I took the practice test on Kaplan it gave me a diagnostic score of 30. When I took the actual one in Feb. I got a 27. When I took it again in April I got a score of 31. I’m guessing that the Kaplan one might be a little easier.
