Background: My S took SAT's and scored in the high 600's for each section. He is taking the SAT II's on Saturday and has been working with the Kaplan books (Chem, Bio, Math II) He wants to go into chem eng program and took the Kaplan dignostic (Chem) scored 82 raw which = 800. Most of his missed questions were on the Nuclear Chemistry questions.

My question, is the Kaplan diagnostic accurate enough that he could just study the Nuclear Chem section and focus on his Math II and Bio full test and have some confidence his score in Chem would hold up?

Second question, will 750-800 on the Chem II test offset his rather average scores on the regular SAT's?

Thanks in advance...
