So...I took a practice test

and some questions seemed so random, with stuff not that historically important and questions about minute details. It seemed SO specific and didn't concentrate on major themes. Needless to say, I didn't do too well...and I'm in AP World now and felt very confident about the AP test and tests throughout the year. So if Kaplan is accurate, I'll have to cram cram cram, hope for an easier test, or just attribute it to a bad day (haha). So..are Kaplan's tests accurate and simliar to the actualy SAT II? Thanksss.

I’m in the same boat as you. I felt pretty confident that I did well on the AP… until I started taking the Kaplan’s/PR SAT II practice tests. I agree with you that Kaplan’s seemed really detail oriented. I am taking the SAT II this Saturday, but I just took one of the practice tests in the collegeboard subject test book today and that one seemed easier compared to Kaplan’s: not as detail specific, clearer questions, somewhat easier choices to pick from.
I really hope that the sat ii is not as hard as the Kaplan’s practice tests because then I really don’t think that I’d have much of a shot at scoring over 700.

yea…there were just random, specific questions that would never show up as AP question…and thing that worried me was that there were so many of those types of questions…I tend to do better with general themes/trends/etc and MAIN points of stuff…and if I have to, using general knowledge to figure out specifics. Is there any way to get an official test online (can I ask that?) I dont have the cb book and the test is saturday and i really need to do well…ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I’m not taking world, but I have been using Kaplan for US. I feel like the subject test questions are more fact-oriented so they tend to be more specific, but AP likes to test themes and trends.

Yea i agree with you guys. On kaplans there werej ust so many details that i swear are not even in the book sometimes. Also on the official cb test i got a much better score (790 800 depending on curve) but on Kaplans i got 700 or 690 I was so scared at first but I heard that the real test is nothing like Kaplans
