Kaplan QuizBank

Okay I know Kaplan is usually full of craps but I needed a good amount of practice problem for SAT writing section and well, I've tried Kaplan's QuizBank. I keep getting lot of questions wrong and they are SO unlike like the ones I saw on real Blue book.

For instance:

The office where I work is on Boat Street; if you forget the address, just remember how it's the one painted blue.

Kaplan says that the answer is C (remember how) because it should be "remember that." I guess this is bit true too but I chose D (it) since "it" can be either office, street, or address (last is unlikely though), and therefore, ambiguous pronoun error.

Is it just me or Kaplan is just crap?

Well, neither u or Kaplan is a crap! I mean like, yeah, I agree w/ u and everybody else that Kaplan's SAT prep is irrelevant. But it not that they r COMPLETELY different. I personally don't like to use Kaplan. they don't offer real practice.

seriously stay away from kaplan.

just look at their questions (like the one right there)...you will never see that on the real SAT

rarely do SAT writing questions even include the semicolon in their sentences...and the sentences aren't that "fictional" (that's a good word to describe it) on the real SAT either...

Kaplan is run by a bunch of charlatans, trust me. I have heard countless stories about how they do not give students success.

yeah, I haven't seen any Kaplan problems that are at all similar to the actual test.

okay... well i kind of got forced to do a kaplan class. would it actually LOWER my score? or would it just be a waste of money?

if there isn't the slightest hope of improvement (i have 1950... looking for 2200 before the May SAT) then i might as well just blow off the class.

I agree, Kaplan isn't really that good. Its questions aren't really similar to the real ones on the SAT, and it also makes tons of print errors. The answer key says one thing, and the explanations say another.

Onetime: Well, I don't necessarily think the Kaplan class will LOWER your score. It may not be that bad of an idea to take it, although I personally think that SAT review classes aren't that helpful. But that's just me and my own weird study preferences.
