Kaplan Review Course

So I am deciding which review course to take for PSAT/ACT prep and I am wondering if any of you have done the Kaplan classroom courses and how your score improved and how helpful they were. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I have to decide whether to do Kaplan or not by the 31st to get $300 off. Thanks!

From what I heard Kaplan courses are crap and they use the old versions of their books in class.

If you have the motivation to study use the Xiggi method :)

Any other feedback besides just screw any professional help and religiously follow some random guy on CC?

I hear Kaplan isn’t that great. I know a few people who have done 3 months with them and only seen a bump of about 30 points. You’re better off by youself. Collegeboard’s BB is great. If you really would like a tutor PR would be a much better option than Kaplan.

yea ive heard that its not that great, but ive already signed up or it like a long time ago so theres no way to go back so once i take those courses ill probably know for sure. good luck

But see that feedback has helped people score hundreds higher on the SAT and has, arguably, achieved results Kaplan/PR/any other big test prep company could only dream about. And it’s a hell of a lot cheaper.

Coming from a person who has done both prep classes and self study, I have to say that studying by myself helped a lot. The course I took wasn’t bad (it’s locally known), bringing me from about 1900 to the 2150ish range on non-collegeboard practice tests-so maybe not the most objectively accurate measuring stick. Studying on my own though, I feel that I’ve improved more than I would have with another prep course, and with much less effort.
