I just took a practice test...and I ended up getting a 23. I got a 25 on the real thing, and idk why, but Kaplan and its explanations don't make sense to me, and for some reason aren't helping...

Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone else have a similar problem?

Judge your scores after taking the tests from the REAL ACT book, not Kaplan or some 3rd party company.

Scores can vary, so it’s pretty much like a 23-26 score range in general. But to be safe, stick with the legit book for judgement. Other books for practice purposes only.

I think Kaplan makes their practice tests harder than the real thing. I took a Kaplan ACT Prep class, and I remember getting 23’s and 24’s on like all of the practice tests. Then I got to the real ACT and thought it was really easy in comparison… and ultimately scored a 29.

So don’t get nervous about that. Their online practice science tests are even harder than the book ones, so if possible, try to get used to the science sections on that. You’ll be happy when the test comes around and it’s 10x easier than you’re used to.
