Kappa Sigma Sex Scandal

Bephy: You also have the right (and perhaps will gain wisdom) from learning to understand that your life shouldn’t be a knee jerk anti Trojan rant. Bruins and Trojans, male and female, can make mistakes. You may also learn that life isn’t all about your need to be a super Bruin. This isn’t about you, even though you try and finesse it to be about you/UCLA/rivalry. And you may also learn that the people on this board could name names, but because we are…classier…we chose, even when knowing their names, to leave the inter university couple unnamed.

what ‘anti Trojan rant’? i don’t remember making one. The only time i even bring up USC is when someone attempts to argue that i shouldn’t care because i don’t go there, or i’m simply trying to rub it in your face. I’m not. And how am i being a ‘super-bruin’? what does that even mean? lol

If you’re classier than me, then i am simply more honest than you. I don’t mind discussing a situation that occured on my campus simply because it’s embarassing, you seem to.

also, no names are even necessary (and note that i didn’t ask for any) In the headlines they say ‘a USC student was caught on camera having sex…’ again, his name is not mentioned. They don’t say anything about the girl, cause no one has any idea who she is. As far as i can tell, the story that she goes to UCLA is completely devoid in evidence, and hence, should be disregarded.

Not exactly… that is just your opinion. The university has every right to use discretion when it comes to their judicial review of the situation; you do NOT actually have a right to know, especially if you were not involved in any way.

As for the whole girl going to UCLA thing being disregarded; just because there is no news through the media does not mean that we do not know who she is. If the media does not report a crime, did it not happen?

Also:

Walk up to an african american and call him the N-word. Hate speech?

“Ching Chong” is hate speech, believe it or not.

You are on the SC board. Most normal people don’t go to a rival school’s board unless they are on a fishing expedition. You lack a clarity of thought process in that you begin by saying that you are “honest”. Honesty, intellectual and behavioral, begins with doing research/knowing what went on (assuming that knowing this is a priority in your life) and owning it. (I will also add that owning it in this case is rather absurd. The two people and the photographer who went on line with the photographs need to own it. The rest of us don’t.)

And unfortunately for those involved, yes, all involved have been identified. See…there is this thing called the internet…

Signed,

Bruin, Class of '78 (didn’t see that one coming did you?)

we don’t know who she is. What you’re doing is making a claim. A claim that’s devoid of any evidence which supports it’s truth. How about we just say that the guy was a UCLA student too? i mean, perhaps there’s no evidence supporting this, or even evidence contradicting this, but if we want to ignore any evidence to ground our claims then why not?

if she walked up to someone personally and did that, then something could have done something about it. This was not the case.

I might have been too hasty in saying this isn’t hate speech; i assumed that hate speech was speech that had no constitutional protection. i’m not too knowledgeable about the law, [but this guy is](http://www.dailybruin.com/index.php/blog/off_the_press/2011/03/alexandra_wallace039s_youtube_video_039asians_in_the_library039_constitutionally_protected_according_to_ucla_law_professor). He notes that the video is constitutionally protected. If you actually do some research and look it up online, the university scanned it’s code of conduct and realized that it couldn’t apply to AW.

yes because everything on the internet is true

So you are (claim to be) a UCLA alum. this doesn’t prove anything or contribute anything substantive to the discussion as a whole. At this point you’re just making petty comments.

Do you have a purpose commenting here beyphy, or are you just here to ■■■■■? Do you have any points to make on the original topic?

at this point, i’m trying to prevent the dissemination of seemingly false information. i.e. that the girl in question goes to UCLA.

unfortunately, i haven’t found any new evidence on the original topic. As far as it seems the public is concerned, they’ve moved onto something new; the row has been disciplined and ‘justice’ has been done.
