Kate Spade or Michael Kors?

I’m buying my son’s GF ( hopefully DIL soon) either MK or KS. Smaller satchel/crossbody. I bought her a MK a few years back that she uses all the time. My hair dresser is 25 and said MK was really popular in their age group a few years back, but now it’s KS or Tory Burch. For those of you with daughters, do you know which they prefer?

D20 uses Tory Burch and Coach. Usually chooses Coach, tbh.

Just asked someone in that age group. She said KS.

Both kids like Kate Spade and Coach.

My D likes Kate Spade.

Kate Spade skews younger than MK. Tori Burch is more aspirational than either.

As an alternative, Coach is popular across the board.

My 21 year old has both KS and TB- likes them both.

I’m not in your demographics but I love my small KS crossbody. It’s the perfect size.

If you go KS, google the Kate Spade Surprise Sale. Fabulous things at huge percents off. I’ve bought several things from there. Wish I needed more!!

Do check the Surprise site. It is the KS clearance site. So many cute crossbody bags! Now I want the cat ears one. :star_struck:

From that site, I’ve bought a crossbody bag – which I use every day – a gorgeous tote that I could have used in my Working Days that I wound up gifting to my DIL, and a gorgeous pale pink bag that I use (rarely) in the spring. Really, I wish I needed more bags. The deals there are amazing.

Just asked my 22 y/o D who graduated college in May. She said she sees a mix of Kate Spade, MK and Coach, but says Kate Spade is pretty popular among her young colleagues. She lives in San Diego. I’m sure it also depends on the area.

I would do Kate Spade. I have bought my daughter several really nice things on the surprise site.

I would go with Kate Spade. Micheal Kors seems to be more popular with an older demographic.

I think the items in the surprise sale are final sale. If it was just me that’s fine. But not for a gift.

Is there a KS outlet in your area? I bought D a great crossbody at one probably 5 years ago and she still uses it as her main purse .
