Hey guys!

So March 10th is SUPER CLOSE! I know we're all super excited...I remember the feeling very well. I know you all are also nervous, and that seems to be cluttering up the other threads. I created this thread for POSITIVE THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS. I understand you're nervous, I understand it's stressful, but we understand: you don't need to tell me again!

So here is where one can write down a positive thought or feeling that you'd like to pass on. No negativity, please!

I'll start: No matter what happens, I can still be successful in whatever path I choose to take!

Let it be. It is what it is.

There are always more options than we think there are.

There is a school for everyone.

I think all you kids rock. The first rule of success in life is getting up to the plate and taking a swing, laying it all out there, engaging the world. All of you are doing this now regardless of the decisions. This is the core DNA of a winner. The second most important marker of your future success is apparent only when you have a setback. Are you able to get up, dust yourself off and take another swing? All the greats have that ability, that toughness, that focus. Win, lose or draw, you own your success and I have no doubt that you’re lives are going to be full of triumphs.

Yeah!! Thank you all for the inspiring words!

Even if I don’t go to boarding school, I still have so much to look forward to.

This decision doesn’t undermine my intelligence or drive in any way.

Wow, great post TParent. I love what you wrote so much that I sent it in an email to myself, to be used with both kids. Super perspective for all challenges in life.

2kids, I did the same thing. To be shared with my child and nephews and nieces on how to live their lives. TParent, thanks for putting it all in perspective.

Just remember that which boarding school you go to never guarantees success. Only YOU can do that! Good luck to all those awaiting prep school decisions.

Even if you don’t get into boarding school, you had the guts to apply, and are obviously very successful due to the fact that a boarding school even considered you. No matter where you go to high school, YOU WILL HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE!!!

p.s. this thread is a great idea!! it’s helping me…:)

I’m glad you like it, bookworm34!

This is more of a tip: Worrying won’t do you any good. Get out from behind the wall of CC and go do something fun! Instead of wondering and worrying, get active or concentrate on something else :).

good tip!! the good news is i have a lot of homework…bad news is that i have absolutely nothing to do on M!!10

Ahhh! Bump!

Some candidates may need encouraging words at a time like this.

Not to continue bumping, but now more and more decisions are coming in!

Good luck you guys!

As I see the results come out, I just wanted to say that you shouldn’t give up hope! Even if your boarding school experience is fruitless this year, that doesn’t mean you should just settle. Next year could be your year! Resilience could play in your favor. Look at azpandaman…he hasn’t given up. It’s been 3 years, and he applied each time to different schools.

But remember, even if you decide not to apply because you’re done with it, remember that you still have great opportunities closer to home.

If any of you decide that this will be your last admission cycle, I would like to let you all know that you already have a tremendous advantage over your current schoolmates who didn’t apply to boarding school when you guys enter the college race. You’ve learned how to present yourself in front of adult for an interview, you’ve learned how to talk about yourself and your accomplishments in a positive way without sounding cocky or boastful-- a feat many adults don’t know how to do!

You are all destined for greatness, with or without boarding school :)

Thank you so much to you, azpandaman, and laughalittle. I’m so glad you two are on the boards. It’s like having older brothers and sisters advise me about prep school admissions and everything else. Thank you both for all everything you two have taught me. I really, really appreciate it.

Thanks 98beebee! I hope your future endeavors are successful!
