I am trying to figure out my chances of being accepted to UC Santa Cruz as my reach and UC San Diego as my super reach. I am just finishing up my junior year, so i will be graduating 2010.
Freshman year i had a 3.7 with no weighted classes, however sophmore year i slacked off quite a bit and finished the year with about a 3.3 weighted, with one AP class, european history and i got a four on the AP test. Junior year i have a 3.5 or 3.6 weighted with one AP Class, US history, and one Honors, Spanish. As a senior i am taking AP Spanish and AP english, as well as four other academic classes and one period of choir a day.
I have a good amount of community service, i've been in our schools choir for 3 years and i will be again next year, and i'm in "Chamber SIngers" which travels and performs in nationwide competitions. I also have been on swim team, but only for one year and i'm going to be on academic decathalon next year.
My SAT scores are my one strong point, i got a 2160 with an 800 in reading, 720 in writing and 640 in math, and i am taking the SAT II's in literature, US History and World History.
Any feedback would be really great because i honestly am very confused what my chances are of going to either UC santa cruz, or UC San Diego :)

are you in-state?

if yes, then id say you have a pretty good shot.
if no, then id say find some safer schools.

in-state in CA makes a BIG difference.

yeah i am in state, forgot to mention that :)

You, too? In-state? High five, Californians rock :]
I’d say you have a good, solid chance.

I don’t think you have anything to worry about because you’re in-state!

Since your in state you should make it in pretty easily.
