I finally made it to my junior year (thank god). Need I say that sophomore year was the most brutal year of my life. Classes became harder, teachers didn't care, and well... I struggled with depression. I ended up missing around 50 days of school throughout the year while making 3 AP classes. My final grades were consisting of almost all C's. Does anyone have tips on how to turn my junior year around?! This year is going to be my make or break for college admissions. I don't even know how I'm goingto get into any school cconsidering how bad C's are. Just if anyone has any advice on how to make it through I would greatly appreciate it. I'm taking hard classes as well and plan to get as close to straight A's as possible.

How are you doing with your depression now? Will that affect you junior year? Either way, good luck!
My advice will probably sound pretty cliche, but I just finished my junior year and I am now a rising senior. I actually felt sophomore year to be a “joke” so I ended up not putting in much effort (but I only had 2 AP’s) so, ironically, my sophomore year GPA is actually lower than my junior year one.
You’re going to have to be self-motivated this year. If you truly want to succeed, then you can do it! I took 5 AP’s and the only A- I got was in APUSH both semesters (I’m terrible at history haha). Build good habits from the beginning of the year. Hopefully you won’t have an early onset of senioritis.
Also, I would recommend taking standardized tests (SAT/ACT) as early as possible! If you are ready for it, definitely sign up for the October/December/January/March ones. You’ll be extremely busy in May due to AP season (and spring sports season if you’re like me). So don’t delay your testing process! Get it down, and you won’t have to worry about it. I only took the test once in January and decided to settle for my score. Part of what makes junior year so difficult is having to juggle both rigorous courses in school and standardized tests.
Lastly, relax and have some fun! I actually enjoyed junior year the most even though it was supposedly my hardest year. If you enjoy it, everything will be easier and more worthwhile. Good luck!

Yay! Class of 2016 ;). I was in a similar situation as you. My sophomore year was the worst year because during the second semester, I got extremely sick. It was preferable to stay home. Missing a lot of school made me extremely anxious because I had a lot of catching up to do. Eventually, I caught up. However, I hated my teachers because I had no idea what the heck was going on. I got accepted into 3 AP classes (Bio, APUSH, and English). I would advise you to avoid missing any days of school unless it is an absolute emergency. Maybe having a list of phone numbers from people in your future classes can help. You can probably call them for notes and homework. Also, don’t be afraid to ask your teacher for assistance. We all have done it, but don’t procrastinate. Most importantly, do not give up. >:D<
