Keeping time on the ACT?

How do you guys keep time on the ACT? I remember on my first ACT my proctor told us that any electronic watches that made any beeping noises were not allowed. Sadly, I had practiced soooooo much with that electric watch, and now I couldn't use it to time myself; nonetheless, I did horribly on reading/science.

However, I wasn't sure if the proctor meant consistent beeping or not. My watch only beeps when I start the timer :p.

How about you guys? I was thinking about using a mechanical watch, but that might be hard to estimate time o_o.

just get a cheap stopwatch from somewhere. Every test I’ve taken, the proctor has written the end time on a whiteboard, so a normal watch might work too

yeah, i bought a $15 watch from wal-mart for this very purpose- just make sure it doesn’t beep (or turn it off).

Sadly, I can’t turn off the beeping on my electric watch. Should I just use my watch forthw time itself without a timer, or is it pointless?
