What do you do to keep your brain academically stimulated?

During summer at throughout your life…read.

One of the classes I will be taking is the second half of a computer textbook I already have so I am working through it now just to stay on my toes. I am trying to get straight A’s next quarter seeing hows I was so close this quarter.

i usually do the reading a skipped during the quarter. and of course read some stuff on my own.

I go to

[Arts & Letters Daily - ideas, criticism, debate](http://www.aldaily.com/)

and here:

[TED: Ideas worth spreading](http://www.ted.com/)

daily.

I wholeheartedly second Arts & Letters Daily. That is a wonderful site to read engaging essays and articles from all across the web. Any sort of reading that involves analyzing and examining intellectuals making and defending ‘big ideas’ will keep your (academic) brain in tip top shape; it’s what I am doing this summer! :)

Smoke a few bowls a day and top it off with a beer or two.

^^haha is that how all penn kids are?

ugh at Arts and Letters Daily. Reminds me of why I will never be an academic person.

Finally going to get around to reading On Human Nature and The Selfish Gene. And going to finish Ulysses. Reading, pretty much.

Buy a stack of books (6-10). Read them. Play some musical instruments. Play some sports. Work a little. That should keep your brain going good enough.

I read books. I teach myself spanish and italian. I read the news. And that’s about it. A slightly mushy brain is welcome during summer :)

Couldn’t of said it better myself :)

I’d say do some math. No one’s judging you or anything, just take it at your own pace. Good thing for your brain.

I just maintain my brain by looking around the blogosphere and thinking seriously about life. Haha.

Every summer, my brain cannot help turning into mush. But seriously, I’m loving the Arts & Letters Daily. I want to watch a lot of movies this summer. I hope it keeps my brain stimulated :D

How about Sudoku or just some crossword puzzles? Seriously though I would recommend spending some time outside to keep your body from turning into mush.

normally, it does turn to mush, but I’m being incredibly productive this summer

Definitely go outside…or you’ll be crazy, trust me.

No summer classes for me for once…now I get people wondering if I’m lazy. Ugh. I finally get time to read and wander around outside; that’s enough for me.

LOL, math…perhaps I’ll pick up my Latin books and attempt to teach myself again…ha.

I will try to watch as much movies as i can. I guess this would help.
