Hey sorry if this has already been discussed, but I had a couple quick questions about the ACE app for kelley!
First off, it says in the app that two components are used, extracurriculars and essays. Does that mean that GPA/ACT are no longer considered?
Second, do people often get denied?
Thanks in advance! It seems like a super cool opportunity.
My general sense is that most people get into ACE that get the application. I don’t have any stats to back that up, but I don’t know of anyone who has been denied from ACE and have never heard anybody complain about not getting in (other than people that didn’t get the application). I honestly don’t know whether GPA and ACT are still considered and there’s probably no way to know for sure unless you are involved in the admission process.
I was in ACE last year, so I can answer other questions about the program if you have them.
@iubaccounting thank you so much that’s so helpful!! also did you find the extra ace classes to be especially hard, is it difficult for kids to maintain the gpa for kelley honors??
The 2 ACE classes that you take are K204 - honors computer in business and C106 - honors business presentations. K204 is all about using Microsoft Excel and Access, and I thought it was pretty easy. C106 was harder for me because I’m not very good at presentations, but it’s still not that hard to get a good grade. I got below the class average on almost every speech, and still ended up with a high A-. As long as you go to every class unless you have an actual emergency and put in some effort, you shouldn’t have much trouble with the GPA requirement.
