Kelley at IU or another school?

I've been directly admitted into Kelley and I've been invited to join the Hutton Honors college and have been offered a generous scholarship but I'm not sure if I should go to IU or some of the other schools I've gotten in to. I'd probably be a top student at IU, but I'm not sure if I want to go to a school that's a little harder to get into instead. So far I've been accepted into the Business programs at Santa Clara, Elon, University of Denver, Tulane, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
I'm waiting to hear back from University of Miami and Wake Forest
It's really hard to narrow this down because there are so many options. I find Kelley very interesting so it's near the top of my list but I'm just not sure. Help!

Do you realize Kelley is ranked higher than the business schools at any of the colleges you listed?

I also don’t know that the schools you listed are really much harder to get into than a direct admit to Kelley (some are definitely not). You’re posting on the IU forum so answers will likely be skewed toward IU. But as the mom of a freshman DA to Kelley and Hutton Honors who also considered schools that were “harder to get into”, I’m confident she made the best choice with Kelley. It really depends on what is important to you. Cost? Large vs. small? Warm vs. cold? Urban vs. rural? Specific majors or programs? Have you visited all of the schools on your list? If you have any specific questions about Kelley, there are many folks on this forum who will be happy to answer. But to give you generic advice about how to narrow down your list just isn’t possible without more info.

We’ve been sweating a similar decision. Many posters have been kind and offered their perspective, but at the end of the day you and your family need to decide what’s most important to you and where you will best fit in. Kelley certainly seems like a wonderful business school. For us, if it were in-state in would be a no-brainer. But it will cost us several thousand per year more than other options, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth it. Hopefully on we visit my son will have a clear favorite. Good luck to you. Please don’t base your decision on how hard a school is to get into.

Son is a sophomore at Kelley. He is in the Hutton honors college and the business honors program. He passed up Michigan and Washington University in St Louis when he chose Kelley. He is extremely happy with his choice and loves IU and really feels like he made the right choice.

One question for all of you people who got admitted. My son’s online application status has changed indicating acceptance. In the program column it says “University Div Pre-Business”. Does this mean not admitted to Kelly directly? Does anyone know what this means. We have not received any email yet. Thanks in advance.

The program column will say “University Div Pre-Business” even if you are admitted directly to Kelley. Your son will first get an email notifying him of his acceptance (hopefully tomorrow!), then a few days later he will be notified if he is directly admitted to Kelley. So if he is expecting DA and doesn’t hear anything by a week after receiving the general admittance email, he may want to call and inquire.

ucmom1, it’s pretty straightforward. If you son has at least a 3.7 GPA and 1270 SAT, he’s a DA. If not, he’s not, although if he does surpass both by the end of the school year I think he’d be accepted to Kelley.

Thx all for clarification. Yes we did get an email today for acceptance. How ab Hoors acceptance. Does that come later too? Or will be indicated somewhere online or in email? Thx all you wonderful people.

Honors acceptance comes later too, and separate from Kelley DA acceptance.

thx stbemtpynest.
