The X100 grade won’t look very good on your transcript. The class does not meet any Kelley graduation requirements and a B- is a really low score for that class, as X100 usually grades pretty easily. B-'s in any class are bad for getting accepted to Kelley. Would have been better to have taken CSCI A110 for the easier grading, to prepare you for the K201 content, and to get an N&M class out of the way. You probably have to do very well in K201 and M119 now to get accepted to Kelley. I assume you will get at least a solid B in X104, as just about everybody that stays in the class does. You won’t get accepted automatically because of the B-'s, per the Kelley admit blog below. What other classes are you taking. I would definitely stay away from E201 in the Spring and try to get into easier grading classes. It is not worth risking another grade less than B-, as you are likely going to need much higher grades to get accepted and no more B minuses. You don’t actually have to take M119 to apply since you have taken X100, but your X100 grade is so low that you probably need to take M119 now and do very well in it.

Can I retake one of the classes i got a B- in?

You’re probably thinking of the EX policy, which you unfortunately cannot use until you are in Kelley.

Here’s the Extended-X policy for University Division students:

[Extended-X Policy](http://ud.iub.edu/recordoffice_3.php?nav=recordoffice)

it says 3.2 GPA and all B’s. I have a 3.179 and two B-. Assuming I do well second semester, what are my chanced. Be honest

Indycar, I don’t think anybody here can tell you definitely how good your chances are. Below are some older posts about getting into Kelley. Keep in mind that it is probably more difficult now to get accepted than when these threads took place a year or two ago. Some of the generalizations that I think you can make, and of course there are probably going to be exceptions to these generalizations, are that

– overall gpa does not really matter. If you are getting all solid Bs and above, your gpa by definition will be over 3.0.

– getting at least a solid B in every course will get you automatic admission, as long as you meet the minimum hours, apply on time, etc.

– people can get accepted with less than solid B in all courses. From the posts by “inthemid”, who worked or works at Kelley, it is damaging to your chances to get less than a B in the admissions courses M118, M119, W131, K201. This may be because Kelley wants well rounded students, ones who have good math, technology, and communication skills.

In terms of your first semester, the B+ in A100 is a positive for you. According to one of the posters below, somebody involved in the decision making process commented that if you can do well in A100, you can probably do well in Kelley. Your B- in X100 is a bad grade for that class, as over 70% get a B or higher in that class. However, it is not a math or technology class, so maybe they won’t hold it against you too much. Also, Kelley often rewards an upward grade trend, and you still have some tough classes to take, so really high grades in K201 and M119 might be enough to get you in if you get all solid Bs and above next semester in your other classes. You should be able to bet a B+ easily in X104, as it is one of the easiest grading classes in Kelley. Overall, it is impossible to say your exact chances; a lot depends on how strong the rest of the applicants are. Obviously, everybody will all solid Bs get in, but who knows how many of these there will be, or how many there have been in past admission cycles-- nobody ever reveals that type of information, although one of the posters said that 53% were accepted one semester, so obviously not nearly everyone who applies has all solid Bs and, in order to fill out the class, they must be taking people with one or more B-. Probably important not to get the B-'s in M118, M119, W131, K201, although maybe a high grade in M119 could offset a B- in finite and vice versa.

Indycar, I noticed from another thread that you are taking 16 credits next semester. You might want to take fewer credits and concentrate more on getting really high grades in M119, K201, and X104. Getting high grades in those classes would be easier to do if taking only 13 credits, and high grades in those three classes would probably be more impressive to Kelley admissions than applying with 29 credits. What other classes are you taking in Spring? What was the S100 class you took. Sociology? Spanish? Do you have 13 or 14 credits first semester.

I’m taking K201, M119, X104, HPER 211, and intl- 101. I realize hper 211 does not count for anything, but i might be interested in sports managment if i don’t get into Kelley. And intl-i 101 is part of my international requirement. I took 13 credits last semester and it was fairly easy. the only reason i did bad was because i got distracted and lost my focus.

Im a sophomore at IU right now and I had the following grades during the fall semester:

BUS-L 201 - D
BUS-G 202 - D+
BUS-X 220 - A
EALC-E 100 - B
BUS-X 201 - C
BUS-A 100 - B

If I can get a 4.0 for my spring semester, what are my chances of getting in? I am applying my spring semester but also planning to transfer to Purdue’s Krannert School of Management if I don’t get accepted to kelley. Does kelley admissions consider improvement? Also, I had recieved a B+ or higher in all the freshman year courses that included W131, M118, M119, K201, etc.
