i am a rising high school senior and have a question about the standards for the direct admit to kelley. i know it says top 10% or 3.5 gpa, but i meet neither. right now i have around a 3.4, but i think id be able to get it up to the 3.5 by the end of the year. my question is, will they be looking at my gpa through junior year if i apply soon, or will they wait to judge my gpa later on when i can have it raised?

the GPA they look at to determine if you are a kelley direct admit will be from your official transcript your high school sends out... if I were you I would wait until I get above a 3.5 and then send out my transcript even though Indiana University is on a rolling admissions basis.. your grades are good enough to still get in even if you apply in the early months of 2009... if you do decide to apply to the school in sept-dec 08.. and your GPA is below a 3.5you will not get in... the kelley admissions officers are strict with the cutoff.. however you can petition if you get rejected.. but I wouldn't take that route... best of luck

not sure if you've looked at kelley's requirements recently. they now require a 3.6 minimum for direct admit. you might have a chance to get in if you petition, but you'll have to have test scores far above the minimum required. my friends who work as ambassadors for the school said that kelley's admissions will be getting tougher this year, so likely fewer petitions granted.
