Kelley Direct Admit

Ok, I just want to get this straight. I am a junior with what will probably be a 4.0-4.06 weighted GPA after this semester, and a 33 ACT, so I don’t think I’ll have any problems getting into IU. I’m gonna apply pretty early like I am for all my schools, probably by October 15th at the latest. Since I qualify for Kelley Direct Admission, if I put down a Kelley major on my application, will I just automatically get into Kelley if I get into IU? Or is there some separate process I have to go through? Also, when are you able to declare a minor at IU?

And with my stats and pretty good ECs as an Out of State student how much do you think they’d give me per year? I’m hoping for at least $10k…UT Austin is my top choice and I have a pretty good chance of getting in there, but I want to make sure I’d be putting myself in a good situation for IU if I don’t get into the other schools I’m applying to.

Based on my experience with almost identical stats, you WILL get 11,000.

On the IU app, you choose the Kelley school of business, and once you’re admitted, your page will say “university division pre-business.” However, about 3 weeks after your acceptance, you will receive an email saying that you’ve been directly admitted into Kelley.

Oh ok, so I’m guessing you take mostly pre-req classes as a freshman? @jpamsel

Yeah you don’t really get into your major until your junior and senior years. I’m not going to IU, but I went to the Kelley DA day so I know a lot about the program. Let me know if you have any more questions.
