Kelley (Pre-business) vs Broad vs Tippie

Hey Everyone, I’ve been accepted to MSU and Iowa as a direct admit to business school, however, I was only accepted as a pre-buisness major to Indiana. I want to study supply chain management and MSU is #1 for that, and Iowa is by far the cheapest, and Indiana probably has the most reputable business program out of the 3. However, money will not be a factor, so in your opinion, what school provides the best value? Is it worth being a pre-business major for a year if the end result is Kelley? Any feedback is appreciated!!!

I would recommend posting your question in the College Search and Selection forum instead of the College Admissions forum. I think you would have a better chance of getting some input from other posters.

I would say the answer is yes. Even if you aren’t a direct admit to Kelley, you will not be behind those that are direct admits. The only question you have to answer is, how confident are you that you can get admitted to Kelley once you are on campus. Other posters on here have referenced examples where one B- kept a person from getting into Kelley.

MSU gives you the advantage of already being admitted into Broad and have an excellent program in what you want to study. The only potential negative is what if you were to change majors within the Business program at MSU? Would you have wished you would’ve gone to IU? A popular topic on many threads is which school has better placement into Investment Banking. IU would have significantly better placement. That’s just one example. I think Kelley just gives you a few more options if you are able to get admitted.

You can’t get higher than #1. Even if u switch your focus, Broad is good.

@GraceDad @moooop thank you both so much for your feedback! I actually just got back from visits to MSU and Indiana and have decided that Indiana is my best option. I spoke to my career counselor and the classes I would have to take don’t seem too bad, so I think B’s will be attainable. Thank you again!
