<p>Internships are hard to get between freshman and sophomore years because most major companies don’t actively recruit them. They want students who are more advanced in their studies (which is why most internships are between junior and senior year) and are serious about a particular industry. With the economic downturn, many companies are only offering full-time jobs to their prior interns.</p>
