I was wondering Kelley direct admission works. I am asking this because both my friend and I got direct admission to Kelley but our stats are totally different. My stats are above the Kelley requirements and his are far below. He has a 3.2 unweighted gpa with a 1270 Sat. The reason I am asking is because my cousin is also trying to get in with a 3.5 and 1280 but has not been directly admitted. We all go to the same schoolchild. Thank you!
3.2 and 1270 got a DA? No way. They must have a much higher weighted GPA.
I think your friend is confused about IU admissions versus DA or someone at admissions made a very serious mistake. The 3.2 is an instant disqualifier unless they petitioned using some special rationale, but that GPA is just too low. On the other hand, what’s their Weighted GPA as that’s what IU uses? I’d ask to see the letter. Same goes for your other friend.
Frankly, someone with a 3.2 in high school is going to have a tough time at Kelley. Then again you’ll hear people saying C’s get degrees, so who knows?
Oh they use weighted GPA? That makes more sense. His weighted GPA is a 3.7, although my cousins is higher than that. Also I am certain that it is a Direct Admit to Kelley not a just an acceptance to IU. Maybe it is due to his petition essay or EC.
It must be a 3.8 or better, his SAT must be higher, or he must have an ACT that is better than that SAT because otherwise he would not be a DA
He did not take the ACT and that is his highest SAT score. Might be because of his petition because he does make the SAT cut with a 1270
There is no way because in order to petition, either your GPA or SAT/ACT has to exceed the cutoff and the other has to be only slightly below it. Your friend has neither of those 2, so either there is something you are missing or somebody at IU really screwed up like @IUBOOS said.
