Hi! I am going to be a Kelley direct admit freshman at Indiana University. I have AP credit for Microeconomics, Environment Science, U.S. History, and most likely Human Geography and Statistics. I took English Language & Composition but I only got a 3 on the AP exam so I know I will have to take W131.

Here's my current tentative schedule for fall semester:

BUS-A 100 Basic Accounting Skills (1 cr.)
BUS-T 134 KLLC Community Development (1 cr.)
MATH-M 118 Finite Mathematics (3 cr.)
BUS-X 170 How Business Works (3 cr.)
ECON-S 201 Honors Microeconomics (3 cr.)
BUS-K 204 Honors Computer in Business (3 cr.)
= 14 credits (+ 3 credits from Intensive Freshman Seminar) = 17 total credits

I heard that BUS-X 170 doesn't count for anything so what should I replace it with? What do you think of my schedule? I am planning to take Honors Business Presentations, W131, Compass I, and other I-Core pre-requisites during the spring semester. Thanks!

Can you waive W131 per the link below? Most honors students can.

If you have AP econ credit, why would you take Econ S201? Replace X170 with C106. X170 is for those who are not sure if they would like to get into business.

Take a look at the other thread and your schedule would be similar. I would try to take M118 at Ivytech (even on-line) in summer II. Ivytech’s equivalent is M135.

Ace, that list of transfer classes is from 2010. I know that IUB/Kelley no longer accepts any credit for A100 or A201 from Ivy Tech, even though the pdf lists possible Ivy Tech classes to get IUB/Kelley credit for A100 and even A201. Per the Credit Transfer Service, you can get undistributed business credit for intro accounting classes at Ivy Tech, but I don’t know how useful that credit would be, especially if you planned to use it to qualify for 150 credits for cpa exam eligibility.

bthomp1,

You are right. I would not take any accounting courses at Ivytech. It is mainly for W131, M118, E201, L201 and the course numbers are all different. Double check with Ivytech.
