Does IU send you information on the Kelley Scholars program if you meet the criteria after you are admitted or do you have to find some form and apply yourself? If they send you stuff, when does that normally happen?

Here are the application steps.

Out of state students have a very small chance of becoming Kelley Scholars. Usually only one OOS each year.

So I’m waiting for them to mail something to me…How long should that take? I sent all my stuff in on Sept. 3rd and still haven’t heard anything

Have you received the selective scholarship application (ssa), completed the forms and essays in the ssa and mailed it back to IU?

altfb11,

If you have received the letter from the admission office, there should be a second page providing the automatic scholarship + SSA information. It includes the step-by-step procedure of creating the OneStart account and getting to the SSA on-line application.

When did your counselor send in your e-transcript? It could take 2-3 weeks after IU received the e-transcript since they probably got pretty busy now. Good luck!

I’ve gotten nothing back from them in respect to an admission decision. I’m also applying for the Wells Scholars program and I had to send in other materials for that to get the actual application. I sent everything together on Sept. 3rd and I got the Wells Scholars stuff already but i’ve gotten nothing from the admission office. no SSA or change in my online admission status. Kinda just playing the wait game right now but idk if i should be pressing them to hurry up if Kelley Scholar due dates are approaching (wells date is the 25th).

You should definitely call the admissions office to make sure that they received everything. Sometimes they make mistakes checking things in. The admissions counselor will not receive your admissions information to process it if IU thinks something is missing. Sometimes they have all that they need but they do not record properly that they have it, and they therefore don’t put your application in line for the final evaluation. This happened to my son when he applied, and he probably missed out on a scholarship because of it.

Call them at (812) 855-0661. It will only take them a minute to tell you if everything has been received. They have staff there to answer this type of question quickly.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll try calling them tomorrow. Hopefully they’re just late on updating my status

If you receive an automatic scholarship do you also get the SSA information?

Barely meeting the criteria for the automatic scholarship will probably not be enough to get SSA. If a student is offered the SSA opportunity, it should be under “additional scholarship” right below the automatic scholarship info (on the same page). Again, make sure that your high school counselor has sent in your e-transcript info. The deadline is only 3.5 weeks away.

I called and i am accepted. They should be sending everything out soon. For direct admit to Kelley do they send me a form(s) to fill out with all the other admission information?
