Hey guys
i got direct admit into kelley in finance and i am really excited although i am waiting for the other decisions. I know kelley is highly ranked but if u dont get into the investment banking workshop do u still get decent job offerings especially in new york or even in india.

Also is kelley good enough and should i apply for kelley llc.

And anyone from new delhi or anywhere in india is planning to enroll or is enrolled can discuss with me other things also

Congrats on getting into Kelley! I’m a DA freshman now. And of course you can get a good job without the IB workshop. I know 3 people in it and it’s really hard and time-consuming, but I believe the thing that leads to the high success that it has is the fact that these companies are going in directly in the workshop and looking for people. This gives people more opportunity to meet companies that do the things they want to do, aka more networking. You can do all this all on your own, I know people who have great IB jobs without doing the workshop.

YES LIVE IN THE KLLC. I LIVE THERE NOW AND I LOVE IT! I AM A HUGE PROMOTER OF THE KLLC. LIVE IN THE KLLC. I LIVE THERE NOW AND I LOVE IT!!

And here are links of videos I made for them:
KLLC ATLANTA: [KLLC Atlanta Trip - YouTube](<a href=“KLLC Atlanta Trip - YouTube”>KLLC Atlanta Trip - YouTube)
and then here are various floor videos because I love my floor. If you live in the KLLC, (and actively participate, through leadership or just hanging out with people) I guarantee that you will love your floor. I have not met one person that didn’t love their floor or who didn’t go to another floor and love theirs.

^ thanks for all the information. As u r currently living in the LLC I think u can give the best advice.

I am very eager to live in the kelley LLC but what I have read about mcnutt has discouraged me. I like to party and socialise but not party the whole week instead work hard during the week and socialise during the weekends. And by socialising I don’t only mean just drinking nd falling around but having fun with friends.

If u could just tell me is it true that u cannot study in mcnut because of the partying whole week thing

And one last thing I am a very friendly person but beinng from India is it gonna be difficult to make friends or are the people at iub not at all discriminating nd do u know anyone from india at iub

I don’t know about McNutt as a whole because there are 6 different buildings but in the KLLC you can definitely study in the dorms. I don’t understand why someone would want to though because all your friends are going to be there and they’re going to want to do things. Even though I close my door most people knock because they need me, but you can study, just have a whiteboard and say you’re studying or something.

A ton of people on my floor are from India! As long as you’re willing to branch out to meet other people, people are going to be responsive. And there are a TON OF PEOPLE FROM INDIA IN KELLEY, so have no fear!

OK – here is the unvarnished truth. The kind of “IB” jobs that come to people at Kelly are basically in “private banking” – that is, cold calling wealthy people to see if they will park their assets with the firm – and NOT in corporate finance, where you will learn mergers, valuations, get on airplanes, spend all night cranking spreadsheets, etc. all the things that you have heard that young bankers do. Again, IB at Kelly or any non-Ivy means just garden variety stockbroking, so don’t get all deranged about IB opportunities there. You really have to go to a top 10 B-school at the MBA level to get real (corporate finance) IB jobs.

sarveshkalra, you can look at the linkedin pages of the following Kelley grads, all of whom attended Kelley for four only four years, none of whom have MBA or any other graduate degrees. You will see many working in investment banking in New York and Chicago. There are probably more with the same type of positions who don’t show up in this particular google search who have similar positions and graduated in the class of 2012 with undergraduate business degrees from Kelley.

I don’t know what Kellybkk’s knowledge of recruiting at Kelley is (probably not much considering he referred to it as Kelly twice), but what he said is completely false. You probably shouldn’t go into Kelley assuming you’re going to get into the workshop, but the kids who do get real IB analyst jobs.
