Kenan Flager Questions

Okay I am a junior in highschool and I was trying to decide which colleges to apply to that have the best business programs. I just have a few questions about the Business school. I would greatly appreciate if someone could answer them.

Does Kenan Flager require that you apply directly to the school when you are a senior or do you have to get into the school first, wait a year or 2, and then apply?

If they accept as a highschool student, what type of grades would they be looking for? And if they accept you as a college student, what type of grades would they be looking for?

How much work is assigned every night? I guess we can measure in hours. Just generally, I wanted to know if it is a stressful program with a ton of work or more laid back and chill about stuff

If I don't get in to Kenan Flager but I want to TRANSFER in later on, hard hard or easy would it be to do that?

Do you have to be a student at another business school to be able to transfer or could you transfer from a place like... Johns Hopkins..... like at the end of the day, my MAIN concern is that:

If I wasn't cut out for any of the top business programs after my senior year when I apply to colleges, I was wondering if it would be better to apply to a better school with NO business program, or a more mediocre school that DOES have a business program, and then transfer to a better one later.

A good example would be John's Hopkins vs University of Wisconsin-Madison. JHU doesn't have a business school but it is an excellent school, but University of Wisconsin-Madison isn't that great of a school but it has a decent business school. So would I be better off transferring from a place like John's Hopkins or Wisconsin? (Assuming I get the same grades and take about the same courses)

bumpppppppp

I’d suggest you read the Kenan Flagler Undergraduate Admissions website. It answers in detail the majority of your questions.

At a high level, you do not apply directly to Kenan Flagler. You must be accepted by UNC first. There are several KF pre-req courses you will need to complete prior to acceptance to KF. Students typically apply to KF in the sophomore year or, after a semester if you are a transfer. The exception to that process is the Assured Admission Program (again read about it).

A good rule of thumb for any major at UNC is 3 hours outside study per week for every 1 credit hour you are taking per semester. If you can get away with less is really dependent on you.

The whole concept of going elsewhere and transferring, while possible, is not a good strategy. Develop a solid HS track record, apply and get into UNC, get good grades here and get accepted into KF (about 50% of applicants get accepted).
