Kenan Flagler Assured Admissions

Hi, I recently got into UNC (yay!) and had applied as a business major, and thus was put under consideration automatically for the Kenan Flagler Assured Admissions program. I was wondering if any has heard back from it yet?

Thanks!

I haven’t. Did you put additional info when you asked to be considered for automatic acceptance into Kenan Flagler? I just checked it as a top priority and I was wondering if you’d think this would hurt?

I was accepted to UNC as well as a business major (but put in the college of arts and sciences for the time being). I listed Kenan Flagler as my top priority for the extra opportunities email and wrote a paragraph in the additional information box. I haven’t heard back yet either, but I’m really hoping to get in! Good luck everybody :)

Do you guys think we’ll hear back if we don’t get it… Or is it just implied?

I remember it said that we will be contacted in writing on or around April 1st if we got any of the opportunities, so I feel like they might only contact the people who got anything. Hopefully letters went out on Friday or will go out sometime this week, because it seems like nobody on here has heard back yet.

Julie from admissions posted this.
Hi there, All students who received the special opportunities email will be selected for one of the programs. You may not get your first choice (though we are doing our best to match up students with their top choice), but you will get something. Thanks for the question.
Julie
So everyone will get something, however, she also said that they were only starting to mail out letters this week so you may not find out for another week or two.

That’s exciting!

Congratulations to those who’ve been admitted to UNC Chapel Hill. The undergraduate business program is currently reviewing applications for those students who were given the opportunity to select BSBA Assured Admission Program as an option. We will send out invitations to the program next week. Those not selected will also receive notification. Please direct any questions to bsba_admissions@unc.edu.

KFBSUndergradBiz Program

they seem to be out now, i just received my email saying i got it =]

^Me too!!!

I got it as well! I’m so excited; I’m enrolling tonight.
See you guys at Chapel Hill next year :)

I just received the Excel Carolina letter and posted Assured Admission into Kenan Flagler as my #1 choice.
I am an instate student, what are my chances?
SAT: 2260 (790 Writing, 730 Reading, 740 Math)
Unweighted GPA: 4.0
Weighted GPA: 4.95
Class Rank: 6 out of 580
10 AP Classes
Solid Extracurriculars
Leadership:
Vice President Young Democrats
Historian Film Club
Volunteer Coordinator for Religious Group

^I don’t think anyone can actually chance you for that. From what I understood the 2 weeks I was in the Assured Admit program last year (before choosing Chancellor’s Science Scholars instead), the program involves classes and meetings all with your fellow Assured Admits. I think it’s more likely that the committee would like to assemble a group of diverse personalities who would challenge each other rather than going on stats or extracurriculars alone.

I’m sure that the intangibles that you’re talking about play a big factor in their decisions but I also think that academics are also a significant part of placement into the program. If you don’t mind me asking, were your standardized test scores and GPA similar to mine? I’m just trying to get an understanding of who makes it in the program

I had a 36 ACT superscore with a 35 composite for one sitting (35/36/35/32) and a 4.5something weighted GPA (5 point scale)/3.96 UW. I also had Native American going for me, so…sorta?

Nice, hopefully I can get into this program. I worked hard on the Excel Carolina essays. I think I have the academic success to back it up. (Although I could never get a 36 on the ACT)
