Hi there! I haven’t seen any threads on the topic, but I was wondering who else got accepted as a transfer student to Kenyon! Just got my acceptance letter today.
Hey! I applied, but I haven’t heard back yet - I’m actually going kind of crazy about it, haha. Did the portal update, or did you just get a letter? When?
@junieb13 I got an email saying the portal was updated around 7pm last night!
@ratgrrrl if you don’t mind me asking, what are your stats? Where did you transfer from?
@Junieb13 I had about a 2.5 high school GPA (after a rough junior year) and dropped out of high school to go to Bard College At Simon’s Rock (an early college program) where I had a first semester GPA of about 3.7. I think I got a 30 on the ACT? (I only took it once) And to my memory my score was split with like 33 on Reading and Writing and a 27 in math and science. In terms of ECs I did theatre all through high school, helped found my school’s chapter of High School Democrats, worked on the literary magazine, and during the summers I work as a teacher for a nonprofit run by a public university. I ended up submitting an arts portfolio too.
I had a pretty mediocre GPA/ EC, but I did a Skype interview that went really well, am a strong writer, and got what I told were incredible recommendations from my professors.
Good luck!
