Leaning toward Kenyon over Vassar. Except for last summer, I will not be able to visit again before May 1. Any tidbits to share that come from experience? I want to study history, classics, archaeology. I like theater, music and hiking. This whole college process has not left me any wiser.
My son graduated from Kenyon and loved it. That said, I know nothing about Vassar…Gambier is a tiny town and they are in a bubble, but it seems to be a great bubble, close knit friends, lots of interesting speakers brought in etc…I would suspect, if you are admitted to both, you will be left with the choice of small tiny village, vs. larger city. One thing I thought was great about Kenyon was kids from all over the country were there, making a nice melting pot.
Vassar also is a great melting pot. My freshman daughter has made friends from several countries and many states. Your academic interests plus the theater, music and hiking sound like a great fit for Vassar also. But both are wonderful choices. Good luck!
I do not mind a bubble. I just want there be stuff to do beyond academics and that seems to be the case for both. How to choose? I’m sure I will but at this point I’m not 100%. I guess that is normal.
Hi again. Any insight on popular clubs, activities, etc., on campus?
Kenyon, that is…
