WOOT. Just got the big purple thumbs up in the mail! Anyone else from NYC find out today?!

Congrats everyone!

I’m from just outside NYC..but havent gotten either a yes or a no yet. I expect to hear tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Was it in a big envelope? like…can you tell from the envelope whether or not you get in?

Ya it was a big envelope with a big purple thumbs up on it. good luck!!

I’m in. I live in Colorado, so the letter should be to all of you guys on the east coast. Got the big purple thumbs up! Does anyone know when we’re gonna get our housing stuff? Anything more than the stuff we got today?
CLASS OF 2012!!!

I’m so jealous. My parents wouldn’t let me apply ED because they think I would change my mind. So I probably won’t find out until April. :(

Accepted from Long Island!!!

Also accepted from Long Island

Can I ask you where on LI and not be creepy? =P

I’m from LI, too, though I’d rather not say from where. Also, I havent recieved a letter either way…should I be worried, or will it probably be here tomorrow?

I don’t think you should be worried. I’m sure you’ll hear tomorrow! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Thanks. Mine are crossed too. Congrats on getting in, all of you!

Hey. congrats to all who got in. I didn’t even get deffered. Good luck to you in Kenyon.

Hey, just got into Kenyon too! I found out monday, but its all the same.

I don’t think you will get dorm info until June or July…whenever the RD students get the same info.

So jealous of you guys! I sent my application in 12/15, so I won’t hear until April. I can’t decide which college I like best… so I sent in 2 EAs and no EDs. :-. If I get a merit scholarship to Kenyon though, that would certainly tip the balance in its favor.

Anyone care to share what made Kenyon their top choice? I haven’t visited yet, although I’m very attracted to the “writing college” idea.

I was at Kenyon over the summer and it was essentially the Garden of Eden. The campus is beautiful without being intimidating, and Middle Path makes it impossible to get lost. There’s an overwhelming sense of community - there are so many places to run into professors and peers, like Middle Ground or the deli. Everyone seems so comfortable and relaxed, like Kenyon is the only place on earth that they would ever want to be. During my interview, I had tons of questions about academics - Kenyon’s creative writing was initially what drew me to the school, but I’m most likely pursuing a double major in Modern Languages. Their teaching methods, like the KILM approach to foreign languages, were incredibly appealing. I made the decision to officially apply ED after the interview, because I saw how friendly and caring the Admissions office is. I don’t think there is a single thing about Kenyon that I didn’t fall in love with.

P.S. If you don’t get the chance to visit, the virtual tour on Kenyon’s website is just as good - they’re not the kind of school that takes pictures of their prettiest buildings but not of the ugly ones. Everything really is THAT gorgeous.

Sounds like paradise! I can’t wait to visit!!!

Congratulations to all of you who got in! that is so awesome! I am going for round II so I hope it works out! Do any of you have any last minute advice? Also, did anyone else submit a DVD or CD with theater or music work?? I am trying to piece that together and it is kind of hard!

congratulations everyone who got in! i’m a regular decision candidate still waiting… :)

yeah, congrats everyone! Kenyon is my number one choice, but I had to apply RD…if anyone wants to check out my thread in the “What Are My Chances” section, I’d be most appreciative. I’m really nervous about not getting in. I want to get in so badly! :(
