[] Strengths: Probably being a URM with high test scores and research experience, along with being ed-in-chief.

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I didn't really show much intrest (in fact, I had a big falling out with my alumni interviewer...grrrr) but they flew me up for the Trustee weekend and I had a really nice interview along with good interaction with many of the admissions people. I also really showed my love for science and English, and Kenyon is big on interdisciplinary studies, and they said they liked that about me in my acceptance letter.[/li][/ul] General Comments:
I got the Trustee Opportunity, but only to the tune of $12,000 a year, plus some loans. I might have been able to consider Kenyon with the full half-tuition scholarship, but 38k is just way too much :( At least I have another bumper sticker for my car!!!

haha I remember Travis from that weekend. He was pretty much awesome :D I had my interview with a current senior and it was pretty awkward... And yes that reveal was pretty much epic. On the way to the airport in our van haha :)

General Comments: **
Absolutely my first choice, but the money situation isn't looking pretty, which effing sucks because I'm pretty sure if locations could be soul mates then Kenyon would be mine. I'm trying everything possible to go, but I don't think it will work out... TT

If money is the issue, and you have Kenyon has accepted you, make an appeal for more aid etc., There is, or at least I am sure in the past has been, the generalization among deans of financial aid that parents with a certain income (maybe over 175K a year) were not going to present money to there children as an obstacle for obtaining higher education. Clearly, times have changed. Though, with the markets up 15% off their low, maybe people will start becoming a little more optimistic, unlikely, I know.

hahaha travis! he's so great.

either way, congratulations to all of you who got in. consider kenyon -- seriously -- it's a wonderful place. if you have any questions, don't hesitate to message me. i'm currently a first-year student whose very involved with the school and can probably point you to the right direction. :)

also from my understanding, the office of admissions cannot to let you know of their decision through the phone or via email. you could clarify this with your personal kenyon-designated counselor but i think it's true unless the policy has change which i doubt.
