Kenyon Early Decision Stats

Hey guys, Does anyone have numbers about Kenyon ED II applicants? What’s the typical acceptance rate?
Also, does it meet the financial aid of international students who can pay like only $9k per year, provided the GPA is above the 75th percentile and SAT at somewhere around the 60th percentile.

Hi! I think the stats is posted on their official website and Kenyon really has a high acceptance rate for ED applicants. If you’re applying Kenyon College just like me, choose ED II !

About the financial aid. I wonder if Kenyon will be so generous and offer such a financial aid package to you…I will say it’s unlikely considering its high tuition and your grades (Kenyon is need-aware and applying for FA might hurt you application), but you should try to apply if you’re confident. I got a $10500 financial aid as an international student, and I guess Kenyon is willing to offer more to the local applicants.

Good luck! Hope to see you in Kenyon!

@AZSaiva Thanks for your response. I have almost a 4.0 UW gpa. ( 3.96 to be precise. ) My SAT is 1440. Have you heard of international students with similar stats to me get that much financial aid?

I guess my stats is quite similar to you, but I won’t say that I’m sure they will give you that much financial aid. I’ve got 3.97 UW GPA, SAT 1480 and 20 in SAT writing. While applying for financial aid at Kenyon is worth trying, I think it’s better to play safe and look at other schools that cost less.

Kenyon states it “offers significant need-based financial aid to international students applying as first year students.” I’d recommend you not be deterred by finances at this stage, @ItsComingHome. (Your excellent result, btw, lands at Kenyon’s 67th percentile, so maybe this would be a touch more favorable for you than you indicated.)

@merc81 thanks. yup kenyon has offered a great amount of aid to kids from my country. I am also showing a lot of interest - joined their mailing list and have also requested an alumni interview.

@AZSaiva i don’t have a lot of options mate. Cant afford those state schools. So, every school that I am applying costs around $50k tuition.

Wow, but you do have options. Hamilton College and Oberlin College are less expensive but as good as Kenyon College. If you apply for financial aids I think they will even cost less. Davidson College is not bad either.

There are some other affordable universities too. Just give them a try and apply! Good luck!

Kenyon was nice visited twice, but 50k/yr I just cannot justify for a math major.

Anyone received their Ed 2 decisions yet?

They don’t come out so soon. Probably have to wait for the coming or the week after that
Did you apply ED2? Mind sharing your stats?

Anyone knows the decision date?

Last year it looked like RD was about 3/19, just reading an old thread.

I got in, and they were super generous with financial aid. Got what I needed.
