Anyone out there apply ED1?

Yes

I get a little nervous every time the mail comes, but otherwise I’ve kept busy enough for it not to be on my mind too much.

You?

I suppose you’re better at waiting than I am

But I don’t think we’ll be getting anything in the mail until next week…

Nope. I looked at some of the old posts and no one outside of Ohio (non-international) got their letter on the 15th. I’m hoping for the 16th, but am not sure I could stay sane if it took past that Wednesday.

But I did notice that these boards were a lot more active this time last year. Makes me wonder/hope that the ED pool is smaller this year.

If you look at the ED thread from last year, everyone got theirs on the 15th. But the Kenyon blog was updated today and it said

"The admissions committee convenes for the next two days as we begin consideration for the Class of 2014. Our goal is to mail decision letters on Tuesday, December 15. Students who apply to Kenyon under the early decision program sign an agreement form that binds them to attend the College if accepted. "

The thing is that almost everyone that posted on that forum was international, and they all get emails. Hopefully I’m wrong though.

President Nugent stated this on Kenyon’s website a few weeks ago:

“The incoming Class of 2013 is larger than we had anticipated and, at this point, the number of applications for the Class of 2014 is well over twice as large as the number we had received at this point last year.”

good luck everyone and possibly see you next fall.

^ holy crap!

I applied to Kenyon ED1!

Although I’m pretty nervous, having read this…

I started reading this forum hoping is would kind of calm and assure me.

All it has assured me of is that I need to get my back-ups in line :P

Same. Decisions in three days!

Actually, does anyone know if applicants are notified any way other than postal mail?

Nah, it says on their website that they send out notices through snail mail…

Anyone hear if the letters are still going to get off on time?

According to Kenyon College, the letters haven’t even been put in the mail yet. I think they intend to send them today.

The letters will be sent out today.

So when do you think we’ll get them?

I was really nervous before checking my e-mail just now.Strangely there is no letter from Kenyon at the moment yet.

my friend also applied ED and she called admissions. they said they would mail them today or tomorrow and it will probably take about 2 days to get to most places in the US

Not today.

Anyone have more luck?
