Any athletes? What sports?

i play lacrosse.
other athletes?

^^Were you recruited and asked to apply ED? Has the coach notified you of the decision?

My son is a recruited athlete. Coach emailed him yesterday that he isn’t told any of the results by Admissions – he doesn’t know until the kids tell him

country day: really?? What a coincidence! Where in STL? I hope we get the chance to be classmates…the mail should be coming around any minute now!
Charleswoo: I hope you get everything sorted out! I’m sure its just a technology issue…the midwest has been having some snow recently…
Anstyforcollege: me, too! Excuses, excuses…most of my friends got thier results back yesterday from various places…so i’m just sick of waiting!
I wish you all the best of luck!

got my letter today!

@NCBoy1, did the envelope have the purple thumbs up?

yes it did and it came in a fairly large envelope

That’s great NCBoy!! Congratulations times a million! Hopefully we’ll all get to see those thumbs up!
I’m very worried about the snow that DC is getting right now. Although mail is supposed to come no matter what…I’m worried. And redundant, apparently.

Just got mine. Saw the tiny and envelope and I think my soul kind of crumbled. I got deferred. It hurts. A lot. But not as much as I thought it would. I’m mainly angry. I wish I could redo everything.

I got my acceptance today! My parents picture messaged me the purple thumbs up and I walked out of class and left school to open it. It’s a huge relief. Congratulations to my new classmates, and I’m sorry to anyone who received a tiny envelope. I’m sure it will work out for you all. If any of the new students want to add me on facebook or anything, personal message me or something. haha

As for my stats, I was too scared to post them before acceptance, but now it doesn’t really matter.
GPA: my school doesn’t do GPA. If they did, I’d have about a 3.3 unweighted, but this year I have a 3.8. I go to a good prep school that deflates grades, so it’s not as bad as it sounds. I’ve taken mostly honors and AP classes through high school, but this year I only have two APs and the rest are regular.
I got a 30 on my ACTs. Math: 28 I think Reading: 34 Science: 26 (oops) English/writing: 26 (I suck at those tests)
I gave them my SAT subject tests that were Math I: 680, US History: 650 English: 650. These might not be right, but I don’t feel like checking. They’re in the same ballpark.
I reported my AP Euro 5, AP US 3, AP Lit 3. I am an AP Scholar. I got National Merit Scholarship Commendations. I manage cross country and lacrosse and used to play lacrosse. I did a foreign exchange in France a couple years ago. I’ve worked at my family business for three years. I was a CIT (unpaid) at a summer camp that I’ve attended for seven years. I did a bit of community service at the Red Cross. I’m a member of SEAA and SUMA. Not much else. Not quite sure how I got in. Good luck to everyone else!

Has anyone gotten them on the west coast? I’m traveling and can’t reach my DD.
Thanks!

Oh I forgot to post my stats!

I have a 3.6 unweighted GPA. I’m not sure what it is weighted. I got a 2080 on my SAT, something like 760 writing, 740 reading, and something absolutely dreadful on math. I’ll graduate with 8 APs; I took one sophomore year, three last year, and four this year. I was a AP Scholar. I played club soccer until sophomore year. I founded the Empty Bowls club at my school, which raises money for SOME: So Others May Eat. I also founded the Quidditch club (don’t judge! Kenyon has one too, haha.). I am in the most advanced choir at my school, and we have won a Grammy award. I also participate in school plays, and am part of an independent, student run theater company as well. I attended the Kenyon Review Young Writers program over the summer, which required an application.

I’m not sure what else I can do. Maybe send more recent grades? A portfolio of my writing? Anyone have suggestions?

My friend with very similar stats to mine got in. It’s painful to go on facebook and see all the “CONGRATZ!1” posts, haha. But actually, I am so proud of everyone that got in! It’s wonderful! And I’m sure you deserve it!

No mail for me yet. Hopefully tomorrow. :/

Anyways congratulations for getting in guys!

Antsy: you can probably send in your midterm grades and if you do have a portfolio or something else send it in. My testing was no where as high as yours even though I don’t know if you took the ACT or not, so I guess I just have to cross my fingers and see what happens tomorrow.

accepted!
dont wanna post my stats

someone should make a class of 2015 group…

hey y’all! so to be honest i’ve been stalking this thread for the past few days but… I GOT ACCEPTED TO KENYON TODAY! never been so happy to see a purple thumbs up in my life i’d rather not post my stats either, but congratulations to my future 2015 classmates! can’t wait to meet you on middle path next year

hey!

thanks and congrats nucleus member!

Does anyone who’ve gotten their letter live in the central to west of the US?

kenyonhopeful - I live in West County and go to school at MICDS. What about you?
Good luck with getting in. I applied regular, and I’m starting to regret not applying early. Oh well.
