Accepted! 32 ACT and 4.4gpa. Congrats everyone!
Waitlisted unfortunely :(. Congratulations to all those that have been accepted!
To all my fellow applicants on the wait list. Do not lose hope! This is better than a rejection and hopefully those who are truly interested in attending Kenyon (myself included) will get the opportunity to do so after they let us know our status in May.
To those who got rejected. I apologize as this is likely not the news you wanted to hear, but at least the stress of waiting for the decision is over and either way I hope every single one of you are able to attend a college that you truly enjoy as much as, if not more than Kenyon.
Here!
International student , waitlisted ugh 1480 SAT1 , 770+ on both subject tests, High gpa.
Seriously so bummed.
Advice to international students out there: don’t waste your time on US colleges, trust me I did 19 and I know I’m not getting into a single one. Just look to Asia, HK , Singapore, Canada and UK and Australia if you can pay. Worth the money, takes 1/3 of the effort and so many rank SO much more higher than colleges that will waitlist and reject you in the US.
Take my word for it.
Hi guys, I’m an international student, I didn’t get any email or any notification about decision release and my portal is still the same.
Hey I think the stupid decisions take a while going out so yeah probably gonna get it today so dw
D accepted!! Yay!! Congrats to all!
Accepted, 35 ACT. International. Blown away by the generous aid.
Accepted! 1420 SAT, 4.0 weighted GPA, decent to pretty good ECs, really good common app essay (based on feedback from other letters), I also visited and had an interview that I thought went really well. Congrats to everyone else admitted and to those waitlisted or rejected, I know you’ll find your place!

Senior Year Course Load: Informatics, Literature, Mathematics (advanced), History, French, English (advanced), PE, Russian, Social Studies, Physics, Foreign Literature (advanced)
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): nothing MAJOR. a couple of national awards and Olympiads, but it’s not super impressive
Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Volleyball (Senior Varsity Team Captain, 2 years); Student Body Vice President (3 years); Co-Founder of Mathematics Olympiad Club (2 years); Spanish and Catalan Online Classes (3 years); also I’m really bored during my senior year (that’s sarcasm) so I took 6 online courses which are gonna be the DEATH of me
Job/Work Experience: none, but imma start working soon cause tuition isn’t gonna pay itself
Volunteer/Community service: President of Volunteering Committee at School (2 years), organized many many volunteering events

Recommendations (rating 1-10, details):
Teacher Rec #1: math teacher; he is super nice, had him for a while. probably a 9
Teacher Rec #2: english teacher; had her for more than eight years. a 9-10
Counselor Rec: I hope it was good. I’d say an 8
Interview: oh the interview. It was… bad (to say the least). Not because I said something super offensive or anything. It’s just… The interviewer was super weird and not interested in interviewing me, but whatever.
Other
Applied for Financial Aid?: YESSSS your boi needs that coin. And Kenyon came through with the money omgggg they made it rain
Intended Major: applied math (maybe also neuroscience)
Country (if international applicant): Mother Russia
School Type: Public
Ethnicity: It doesn’t get whiter than this y’all
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: $120k
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): idk international ?¿?
Reflection
Strengths: My essay was probably the strongest part. They really showed who I am and I am proud of them. Also my SAT/GPA is okay sooo idk idk
Weaknesses: I don’t have any AP/IB courses, so they might have thought that I’m not challenging myself. The Russian education system is confusing AF, trust me. Also, my extracurricular activities could have been better. Should have cured cancer or smth ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: pure luck, essay, scores
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Got into U of Alabama (yay) (this is a cry for help). Waitlisted at UChicago and Washington University in St. Louis. Rejected by Skidmore (idk how that happened), Tulane (this was my safety and I got rejected like whaaat), Pomona, and Swarthmore
General Comments: if you didn’t get in, trust me, you’ll get in somewhere!! It’s a matter of time. Good luck!!!
@alexmake I’m going to make a results thread
Did anyone receive any news about the Kenyon Writing Award?
Waitlisted. International student. 1480 SAT, 108 TOEFL, Rank 4/68, G.P.A 3.8/4 (converted). Applying for lots of aid. How many students does kenyon admit off the waitlist? I was rejected by Swarthmore and Trinity yesterday, now im waitlisted. I feel like all my efforts have been disposed off in the bin.
Waitlisted here and Skidmore. A bit surprised and quite disappointed. If I read the common data set from last year correctly, only 4 people were accepted off the waitlist. Not holding my breath.
D got in ?
California
1520SAT
4.51 GPA
I think pretty good ECs
$20k merit per year
Congrats to all and to those waitlisted or denied, it’s going to work out. Hang in there???
Accepted! No merit though.
31 ACT, 3.7 UW GPA
recs, essays, and ECs probably stood out the most for me.
