Waitlisted with a 34 ACT and 4.7 GPA plus full support by coach to be starter on a team. Great admissions interview on campus. What does it take to for a kid to get in college these days?! I should also mention that I have a ton on financial need so I guess that is the kicker.
@“RD$Blues” if there’s one thing I’ve learned through this process it’s that you’ll be surprised. Schools that some people have gotten into then rejected from ones that should be safety and some kids with amazing stats get shut down in a school that looks like a match then get into a school that should be a crazy reach… it’s a mystery, man. But all the places you don’t get into, won’t get in your way as you make your decisions. You’ll find your place!
@packacards I think I just saw in the Lafayette string that you are from Northern CA. My D also accepted there and at Kenyon from Northern CA. Quick question, she has not received anything in the mail from Kenyon, only her portal update last weekend that she was accepted. Have you received anything in the mail?
I totally agree @packacards - it is hard to find trends in what certain schools are looking for because they change so much year to year. I did get into two schools that are ranked much higher than Kenyon. They must have a different blueprint for evaluating applications.
@Chaimama she has not gotten anything in the mail. Would be nice to get something from them before we go visit next week over spring break!
@“RD$Blues” I think all of these schools are trying to build a class like you’d build a team - to create a well-rounded group. And since, at least in our case, they’re pretty small schools, it’s just much harder to discern what exactly they’re looking for to build that balance.
@Chaimama we haven’t received anything in the mail here either. In Chicago.
the admit packet was SO CUTE
Accepted RD with $20,000 merit!
If you wanna see a stats overview, here is an old post of mine:

My updated weighted GPA is a 4.7.
I really loved how customized the acceptance letters were! It was unlike any of my other schools!
Thanks to all here who were helpful! Our daughter is Kenyon-bound!!!
Anyone admitted off the waitlist?
Vikarious did. See waitlist thread.
